ASSIGNMENT 2(A)
My "X" Hometown
THE TASK
For our second individual assignment 2(A), we are needed to study and to virtually visit our hometown using different kinds of sources, techniques and media to observe the environment, built components and culture of our chosen area. For this assignment, I chose Kota Kinabalu as the city I would be observing and Tanjung Aru being the sectional area in my hometown. Then, we are to sketch out our observation on our chosen area using infographic manner and fold it into pamphlet.
MY PROGRESS
week 1 :
For the first week, I just spent my time finding information of my hometown, Kota Kinabalu. I found information on the landmarks and studied the city map. Then, after I found enough reference, I started a sketch of my front cover for my pamphlet. The front cover illustrates the atmosphere in one of the landmarks in Kota Kinabalu that is Tanjung Aru Beach. Furthermore, I also finished the second page of the assignment.
The images on the right are some of the landmarks in Kota Kinabalu that I chose to elaborate on for my assignment. : -
FINAL OUTCOME
REFLECTION
thinking and problem solving skills -
During this assignment, I was able to think of solutions to solve my problems. For instance, when I was faced with a question about my hometown, I would search for the answers in the Internet or ask my parents who know more about my hometown than I do. Other than that, I also used various resources to complete this assignment.
intrapersonal skills -
I became more self-reliant after this assignment. I learned how to work independently and to manage my time during the span of this assignment. I managed to avoid stress by doing any work at the last minute by making sure I was always on track and disciplined myself to follow a time schedule I made.
digital literacy -
For this assignment, I am able to utilise the technology that we have nowadays in order to complete this assignment. For instance, this assignment requires us to learn how to use Google Earth, Google Maps and more in order for us to study our hometown. It is important for us to use this sources during this time since we can't physically visit different areas during the global pandemic.
