Design Elements
THE TASK
For our second assignment, we are required to produce eight smaller models based on the assigned design principles (balance, rhythm, emphasis, movement, variety, contrast, harmony and unity). For each smaller model created the form used should be a shape taken from the first project. The chosen shape can be extracted and manipulated to be transformed into different shapes using various techniques. After producing the set of smaller model, a final hybrid model is to be designed by combining the design principle of three smaller models together into one final model.
MY PROGRESS
week 1 :
For the first week of this assignment, I have chosen a shape from the first project which is a triangle. Then, using various techniques of shape manipulation I have ended up with different shapes to be used in the smaller models. Not only that, I also started on the sketches for the set of smaller models.
FINAL OUTCOME
REFLECTION
During this assignment, I had a few troubles completing the set of models according to my schedule because of other assignments taking up my time as well. Doing my work at the eleventh hour has caused a lot of anxiety and stress on my end. Therefore, I promised myself to be better at managing my time for the next assignment and learn to multi-task. Not only that, I also had trouble combining the design principles to design the final hybrid model. However, with the feedback given by sir and also asking some of my classmates for advice, I was able to overcome the challenges with their help.
