PROJECT 1
DIAGRAMMING ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES
Our first project, students are required to learn from precedents by analysing their design objectives and principles. Our group was assigned to study the design principle and investigate how spaces are created from the making of architectural and construction elements of Estate Bungalow by Narein Parera using diagrams. The focused criteria to study are design intentions/PATI, context, space planning, circulation and structure of our given case study.
Project Reflection -
For our first project, I was able to be grouped with new friends that I have never grouped with before and was able to become closer to one another especially since this semester we had physical tutorials. Not only that, this project also helped deepen my understanding and application of design elements and principles and express them with diagrams which will be constantly referred to for our future projects as well.
PROJECT 2
DESIGNING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES AND MATERIALITY
For our second project, students are to work in a group of three to use the architectural principles from their first assignment to craft an Introspective Architectural Pavillion that has spatial experience. This assignment requires students to explore their inner self-consciousness and preferences to challenge certain ways or postures by which we frame ourselves, our relationship with nature and others. Other than that, students are also required to choose the types of materials and effect it has on the spatial experience and study their tectonics.

Project Reflection -
For our second project, I was able to learn and understand the concept of a tectonic structure such as different joinery methods whilst also studying the characteristics and properties of different materials when designing the pavilion. I also learned a lot from my group members in terms of designing and being inspired by our different creativity. I am also glad that this project continues the application of the design principles from our first project as I was able to develop it into this project. Nevertheless, I learned so much during the process of this project to bring forward to the next project.
PROJECT 3
DESIGNING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES, MATERIALITY, CONTEXT AND USER
For our third and final project, it requires students to further explore and integrate the design idea and construction method of the previous assignment into a more complex program. Students are required to design an atelier at Wawasan Recreational Park, Puchong. The structure should be built within a space of 100sqm and be able to accommodate two people for two-to-three night stay. The design of the atelier should demonstrate your application of architectural objectives and principles, materiality, constructability and the context in creating a memorable spatial experience for the user.

Project Reflection -
For our third and final project, I initially struggled with designing and model making stage to create an atelier but after consulting with my mother on what she wanted for an atelier, I was able to be put into a direction on which design she envisioned. Nevertheless, I am satisfied as I was able to combine ideas and design principles from the previous two project in order to complete this project and still have a lot to learn and improve for future semesters.
REFLECTION
discipline specific knowledge -
At the end of this module, I have been introduced and gained a lot of architectural knowledge through drawings and design. Model making, orthographic drawings and presentation board composition is a knowledge that will stick with me through my studies in future projects. Getting feedbacks from both my tutors and seniors throughout this semester was also very helpful for me to improve.
communication skills -
As we had physical classes this semester, I was able to actually meet and form relationship with my group members. Most group I was formed with this semesters are new friends that I have never grouped with before. Not only that being the group representative fore our first project also helped to improve my communication skills.
interpersonal skills -
All three of the projects of studio made me realize how important teamwork is to a group. For each and every assignment, I believe that we worked great as a team. This is because, I find that each one of us did their very best in their parts that they are assigned with. Not only that, time management in our group was also great as we keep tracks of the requirements we had to do for the project by making lists to remind each other.
