Architectural Design I (ARC60208) is structured as a series of studio-based exercises and projects to introduce architectural design. The projects are aimed to allow students to understand the elements and principles of design, spatial qualities, ergonomics, anthropometrics, construction and materiality in terms of tectonics.

Design Communication (ARC62404) introduces the basic and fundamental skills for the appropriate communication of architectural design. The projects teaches students to engage different means of visualization and expression of space and spatial ideas through architectural drawings to prepare students with the skills required.

Architectural History and Theory (ARC60804) is a series of lecture based classes to allow students to gain knowledge on Ancient architecture to Western architecture from the beginning of the time period of Enlightenment, with consideration of intellectual, aesthetic, technological, political and economic factors that influenced the design of buildings.
